COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY SINCE 1943
MAKE IT WITH PAPER ®
All Skatelite materials are made either with FSC-certified paper and/or post-consumer recycled paper or cardboard.
The Jamison Ramp
Trim waste is used as hog fuel at local paper mills.
ECO BIND RESIN TECHNOLOGY
Using a phenolic resin in the manufacturing process, Skatelite achieves unsurpassed quality in the finished product and minimizes energy consumption, with no added urea formaldehyde. In addition to reduced energy consumption, the phenolic resin has earned the EcoBind designation, indicating it is one of the lowest VOC emitters on the market.
Max's Backyard Miniramp
Skatelite began tracking emissions in 2005 using the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, developed through a partnership between the World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Skatelite set a five-year goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 30%. By 2010, Skatelite exceeded that objective with a total 32% decrease in CO2 emissions.
Siempre Para Los Niños Orphanage
Up to 84% of Skatelite's electricity grid mix comes from hydropower. Closed-loop water tanks are used to cool the saturators. According to the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and specifically Skatelite's stormwater permit, no outflow of domestic water is contributed to storm drains, only rainwater.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification ensures that products come from well-managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.
Skatelite is an incredibly durable, extremely versatile and highly sustainable material made from resin-infused paper.
Skatelite is free of hazards listed in the Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) candidate list of REACH regulations in concentrations less than 0.1%.
The Health Product Declaration (HPD) Open Standard provides for the disclosure of product contents and potential associated human and environmental health hazards.
Through third-party verification, Skatelite products qualify for Living Building Challenge (LBC) Red List-approved certification.
