Better for Skaters, Better for the Earth

Skatelite is sensitive about the environment and takes measures to reduce its impact on the planet. In particular Skatelite Pro is an eco-friendly material made primarily of paper from certified managed forests in the U.S. Between 98-99.3% of the Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) involved in the Skatelite manufacturing process are captured and destroyed.

Additionally, Hemplite is made with fast-growing, environmentally sustainable abaca fibers from The Philippines and Ecuador. Abaca is a type of banana plant noted for its fibers used in weaving. The fibers, also called hemp, have been used in textiles for more than 6,000 years. Few textiles are as strong or long lasting as abaca. It’s estimated that today more than 25,000 products, including monetary paper currency, are made with the fibers. Hemplite is the first ramp surface to incorporate abaca.
